Caligold is the product of California’s endless summer – as it
should be.

When mild mannered choir singer Talia Korobkin met heavy
metal-loving multi-instrumentalist Lachlan Keller, it was an
unlikely match. Talia’s character-filled voice quickly captivated
Lachlan’s imagination and he subsequently scrapped his
summer plans to record a follow up his first heavy metal album
(Lanlok American Blight) and instead chose to write an acoustic
set to showcase Talia’s unique talents.

The resulting EP, Rain & Shine, is an acoustic indie-pop modern
classic, with songs evoking a wide range of emotions. Starting
with the infatuating joyride that is “Falling Like an Asteroid”
and moving into the optimistically reflective love tones of “End
of the Universe”, the songs are wildly addictive and uplifting.
Then the gorgeously despairing yet ultimately triumphant epic,
“In the Water,” comes along that is sure move many a listener to
tears. The playfulness is restored with a vengeance (literally!) as
the EP closer “Wicked” picks up the pace again.

Caligold hail from the town Seal Beach in Orange County,
California. Talia is a student at the University of California at
Berkeley, and Lachlan attends Yale University in New Haven,
Connecticut.

The “Rain & Shine” EP was written and recorded in the summer
of 2021 in Seal Beach, CA.
